Cost-Effective: The fee for counseling with an intern is greatly reduced compared to a licensed clinician who has many more expenses related to maintaining their license. This makes counseling services more accessible to people who are under-insured or who are sticking to a strict budget. It is an affordable way to manage your mental health!

Increased Availability: Interns typically have more flexibility to work outside of the average work week as they need to incorporate their intern hours into their work/class schedules.

Cultural Competence: Because interns are receiving the latest training available, they tend to be on the cutting edge of learning how to work with the latest multicultural approaches.

Closely Supervised: Interns always have at least one clinical supervisor, sometimes two, as well as their campus supervisors, which means they are mentored under the guidance of seasoned clinical professionals who oversee their process.

Fresh Perspectives: Since interns are at the beginning of their career, they tend to blend recently acquired knowledge with innovative ideas to enhance their clients’ therapeutic experiences.

Insurance

Depending on your current health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, it is possible for services to be covered in full or in part. Please contact your provider to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy services.

I’d recommend asking these questions to your insurance provider to help determine your benefits:

• Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?
• Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?
• Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
• Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?

Payment

We accept cash and all major credit cards as forms of payment. We also accept payment directly on the Patient Portal.

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you may be charged for the full rate of the session.
